T5W :: August 17

Hello, my bookish friends! I’ve come across a fun weekly meme called Top 5 Wednesday aka “T5W”. This meme was created by Lainey @ ginger reads lainey and is now run by Samantha @ thoughts on tomes. There’s a huge community of T5W Booktubers & Bloggers, and I’m truly looking forward to participating in this meme every week with you guys! If you’re interested in joining in on the fun, check out the T5W Goodreads Group for more info.

Without further ado… I give you my very first T5W!

This week’s Top 5 topic is :: Favorite First Sentences!

I couldn’t have started out with a better topic! I love it! There are so many books out there with great first sentences… So we all know how difficult it can be to choose just five. But here we go…

5. Criminal Magic by Lee Kelly | Goodreads :: Amazon :: Barnes & Noble

“Magic can do a lot of things, but it can’t undo the past.”

1. The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah | Goodreads :: Amazon :: Barnes & Noble

“If I have learned anything in this long life of mine, it is this: In love we find out who we want to be; in war we find out who we are.”

All of these first sentences are amazing to me. I love the meaning behind each and every one. Thanks for sharing my first T5W with me! Hope y’all enjoyed reading some of my favorite first sentences.

Let me know if you’ve read/plan to read any of these books and if you enjoyed them! And feel free to link to your T5W post  below, if you want! 🙂
