T5W :: August 31

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme created by Lainey @ ginger reads lainey and hosted by Sam @ thoughts on tomes. Don’t forget to check out the T5W Goodreads Group for more info and weekly topics!

This week’s Top 5 Topic is :: Books You Will Never Read!

Since there are less books that I don’t wanna read than there are books that I do wanna read, this week’s topic is a little bit easier for me. Not a lot of decision making going on. Lol. (The following books are not in any specific order or ranked by number… They’re all books I equally DO NOT want to read!)

Goodreads :: Amazon ::  Barnes & Noble

Throne of Glass really didn’t appeal to me at all. I tried so hard to like it, but I just couldn’t. And I was highly disappointed, therefore put off from wanting to read on. Everyone tells me to continue reading the series because it “gets better”, but I really can’t take a chance on putting myself through that torture again. I apologize if I offend anyone, because I know a lot of you love these books… They just aren’t for me. So I can guarantee you that I’ll never read this book. Or any of the other books in the series.

Goodreads :: Amazon :: Barnes & Noble

This book appeals to me in no way, shape, or form. The plot doesn’t catch my attention and the story just seems cheap to me. The cover turns me off a bit because I’m not into girly type books usually… So, this is definitely not a book on my TBR.

Goodreads :: Amazon :: Barnes & Noble

Ok… I used to be a cheerleader in high school and I loved it. Although I loved it, I really would rather not read about it. Or about the life of a high school cheerleader. Apparently this book is about aliens… But once again, that cover puts me off. If the cover doesn’t appeal to me, I’ll usually pass it up. (I know, I know… You can’t judge a book by its cover!) I’ve also read a lot of not-so-great reviews on this one. So why bother? Never will I read this book.

image2. Tumbling by Caela Carter

Goodreads :: Amazon :: Barnes & Noble

Sports books are just not my cup of joe. A book about tumbling? No, thanks! I don’t see myself staying interested in a book like this. I’ve read that this book follows several POV’s and that it can get confusing at times. I’ll probably just stick to my guns on this and pass it up completely.

image1. Winger by Andrew Smith

Goodreads :: Amazon :: Barnes & Noble

I have to admit… That cover is hilarious. Until you read the synopsis. This is another book that I can’t see myself getting into. This is a book about a kid who plays rugby and the girl he wants doesn’t want him, etc etc… It just seems like I’ve heard that same plot before so many times. I’m gonna go ahead and say that I’ll never read this book…

There aren’t many books that I wouldn’t give a shot… But those are a few definite NO’s.

Have you read any of these books? Do they appeal to you at all?

      1. There is a lot more intrigue and development to the characters in the second one, plus some awesome action scenes. The action really gets better in the third one (it’s jam packed). It’s hard for me to explain how it gets better but you can just see Sarah evolve as a writer. It takes her a while to work out the kinks but the way she weaves and connects aspects of the story is masterful
