September Goal Update #1

Well, hello there! Hope everyone is having a happy September so far! I honestly can’t believe how fast the time is flying. The month is close to being over already, and here I have yet to update you guys on how my September Goal/To-Do List is coming along. I’ve had a busy, busy last few weeks and I’m slowly coming out of my reading slump (thankfully!). So now that I’m done making excuses… Let’s move on to the update!

If you checked out my post (linked above), you’ll know that I had a pretty long list of things to try to accomplish this month, all while keeping up with my reading. So let’s take a quick gander at the list and see how far I’ve come along…

upWrite Reviews :: I’ve written two reviews, but have only been able to get one posted… Only Daughter by Anna Snoekstra. Posting one review this month wasn’t exactly what I meant by “catch up on writing reviews” but hey, shiz happens. Am I right?

Catching Up on Tags :: I have been able to get caught up on a couple tags so far this month, although I have lots more to go! – The Sunshine Blogger Award & The Book Courtship Tag

Updating Goodreads Challenges :: This is a goal I have ultimately failed at. I haven’t had the time to update any of my Goodreads challenges. Very disappointed in myself for this too! I’m so behind!

Post Fall Bookish Bingo :: Wooo!! I have posted my Fall Bookish Bingo board and even got in a Bingo Update post! Be on the lookout for board updates on Friday’s.

Build Up My Blog :: I mentioned wanting to get a review index and a rating system page up and running… Well, here they are: Review Index & Rating System

Stay Active on My Blog :: I feel like a complete failure on this goal, too. I have made a huge list of discussion posts that I’d like to get up, but just haven’t found the time to post them yet. They’re coming, though!!

Overall, I’d say I’m pretty happy with what I’ve been able to get done… And I still have a little time left before September is over! I haven’t stopped working toward these goals, so I’ll update you again at the end of the month.

Oh Oh Oh! I almost forgot!! I finally signed up for Twitter! I have no idea what I’m doing on there yet, but I’m slowly figuring it out. Click the link to follow me, or add @bookslayerreads

Did you set any goals for yourself this month? If so, how are you coming along? I’d love to hear from you in the comments!

  1. It’s amazing how much work it all is, isn’t it? I mean it’s fun and rewarding, but time consuming to manage a blog, particularly this kind. It takes time to read and review and do updates and…I still haven’t figured out my flow yet. Right now I’m heavily focused on getting caught up on my galleys, so I read a LOT and then review a LOT, but don’t have time for anything else really. And it bums me out because I REALLY want to create more content other than reviews, but time is limited. I think you’re doing great!

    1. Thank you! Yes, blogging is very time consuming. I’m also trying to figure out my flow. By trying different fonts, colors, designs, etc. I feel like my blog has been super inconsistent, but I just wanna play around with different things so I can find out what works best for me and what makes my blog better. I’m backed up on my Galleys too, and honestly, I don’t know how people can read so much, yet keep up with their blogs like they do. I think I need to take some courses on time management lol.

  2. I always set super ambitious goals at the start of the month… then realise there’s no way I’m going to meet them. I feel you with the reviews. I’m so behind! But it looks like you’ve been doing heaps of other interesting things. P.S. Welcome to the Twitterverse. 🙂

  3. Hahah I only joined Twitter not too long ago as well. I feel like I juggle a million social media accounts. But Twitter is fun. I have set little goals and have to keep everything on my planner these days. The brain fog is getting worse and meds are not helping. It looks like you have managed quite a bit though 🙂

  4. Welcome to the twitterverse! Just from the short time I’ve been following your blog, you seem to have hit a lot of these goals. 🙂 Time management is so hard, especially when blog hopping is so much fun! >.< My only goal was to get my blog started – super easy O=)
