500+ Follower Q&A!!! (Part 1)

Holy smokes, it’s taken me a long time to get this post up! So sorry for the delay, but you know how life goes sometimes…

To celebrate my achievement of 500+ followers, I hosted a Giveaway and Q&A!

Ishita @ Book Myopia

Congratulations, Ishita, on winning my giveaway for $20 to spend at the Book Depository! Thank you to everyone who entered!

I told you guys to ask me some questions, whatever you would like to know about me, and I got some really great questions from you guys. Some of them took a lot of time to think about the answers. Lol. I have decided to break this Q&A down into two parts, so here is Part 1…

Cassiopeias Moon asked me: “What would you blog about if you didn’t blog about books?”

This is a really interesting question… and I think I’d have to say that I wouldn’t blog if I wasn’t blogging about books. Books are my passion, and I don’t think anything else would interest me enough to blog about it. Lame? I know.

Sammie @ Bookshelves & Biros asked me: “What do you find most frustrating about being a blogger?”

I would say the time it takes to blog. It’s so time consuming and sometimes becomes quite stressful for me. But I’m working on strategies to better my time management skills.

“Where do you see your blog in a year?”

Like everyone else, I hope my blog continues to grow… I want it to be something that people enjoy reading. That’s my goal here. To make myself and my readers happy. 🙂

“If you could be best friends with a character from any book, who would it be and why?”

I recently just finished Six of Crows (you can find my review here), so I’d have to go with Jesper. He is so loyal and funny and adorable and I just love him so much! He would be the perfect best friend.

Ashley @ Inside My Minds asked me: “What is your favorite thing about the book blogging community as a whole, and what do you think could be improved?”

Great question! My favorite thing about the book blogging community is that it is so welcoming to newcomers. It’s like one big family of book lovers and I love being a part of something so great as this. For the most part, I think us book bloggers stick together and have each other’s backs. But every now and then, some negativity might work its way into the community, and that’s the only thing I don’t like. Negativity. If we could morph any negativity into some positivity, that would be a great improvement!

Debby @ Always Booking asked me: “What are your favorite genres?”

My favorite genres are Fantasy and Historical Fiction, although I haven’t been reading much of the latter lately. Hopefully I’ll be able to get back into some good HF books soon! I’ve been missing the genre a lot!

That’s it for Part 1 of my Q&A! Thank you to everyone who asked me questions. It was fun answering them! If you asked me a question, but it isn’t on this post… don’t fret! Stay tuned for Part 2 of the Q&A coming up in the next couple days! Talk to you soon!

    1. It is a safe place. I love that! Thanks… I thought maybe it was a cop out answer, but it’s the truth. If I didn’t love to read like I do, and love to read book blogs, I would have never had the idea to blog in the first place. So I know I wouldn’t be blogging about anything else! 😊

    1. Thank you! I don’t think you missed it, though. You did congratulate me on my followers, but didn’t ask any questions. 😉😝 It’s not too late though, if there’s something you wanna ask me! Click the first link in this post and it’ll take ya to it! ❤️

  2. haha Is it bad that I can only see the work Jesper!!! He’s a gem. I try not to stress about my blog, I try to have a few posts in the works and slowly do them over time. I figure if I need a couple days off everyone will understand 😀

  4. Congrats on 500 Megan!!! I can absolutely relate to not knowing or really wanting to blog about anything else other than books, reading is my only “hobby” or better said passion. The book blogging community is very welcoming & is now my safe space. Loved your answers & wish you & your blog all the growth in the world 😉💕

  5. Great post! You received some really good questions! I loved your answers. I totally understand about negativity. This morning again there was a bit of drama and I run away from Twitter because this is not the community I love and respect. Congrats on reaching 500! Wishing you all the best for the future!

  6. Congrats Megan! And I absolutely disagree with you when you say it’s lame that you don’t have any other passion. Personally, I think it’s better to stick to one passion and then make the best out of it.

  7. I completely agree with what you said about the blogging community. I love how we all have each other’s backs but it would be nice if those moments of negativity could be turned into positivity. I try to steer well clear of the negativity. Also, I’m so with you on being friends with Jesper. He would be great to have around. 😊

  8. I’d be clueless as to what to blog about other than books as well. Or well, maybe board games (I tried it, didn’t make it past the first post. lol) but you always need someone else to play one of those while reading is mostly a solitary hobby (which is why I love it so much ;). Time consuming…aye, don’t get me started on that ;).

      1. It’s SUCH a hassle when you have to play a game and pause it every 2 minutes to take a picture of it! Besides, I think people would rather watch a cool video on it anyways 😉

  9. Congratulations once again!!
Oh, I wouldn’t be able to blog about anything else either 😐 .. I have had people suggesting some ideas like blogging about my experiences in a new country, but I somehow I just haven’t been able to get started on any other topic :\

  10. Congrats Ishita!

If I didn’t blog about books, I wouldn’t be a blogger either…. I honestly don’t care about anything else enough to blog about… well at least nothing that other people would care about lol I could write for days about my beautiful tiny humans 🙂

  11. Wow, congrats on 500 followers Megan! You can count me among that number now. 🙂 I’m so glad I stumbled onto your blog! I agree, I don’t know if there’s anything I love enough to blog about aside from books. Except maybe food…but no one wants to read a blog that’s just a girl raving about how much she loves pizza. LOL.

Fantasy is my favourite genre, too! There are a lot of really good historical fantasy books out there, you should try one of those if you’re missing your historical fiction. I recommend Sorcerer to the Corwn by Zen Cho, it’s set in Victorian England!

    1. Thanks so much! I’m glad you’re enjoying my blog. That makes me happy 😊 I have a sample of Sorcerer of the Crown on my Kindle! Just haven’t gotten around to it, but I’ll definitely check it out soon. Thank you for the recommendation!

  12. Great answers, Megan! Q&A posts are always so cool because you get to know the blogger so much better. 🙂 I totally agree with you – I find the sheer amount of time it takes to write and manage a blog really frustrating sometimes. I wish I could get it done quicker than I do/have more time than I do haha! Here’s to the next 500 followers! 😀
