Some of you have heard of the Beat the Backlist challenge, created by Austine @ NovelKnight.com. For those of you who haven’t, it is a challenge created to help knock some of those backlist books off your TBR! You know, those books that have been sitting on your shelf for months, maybe even years? Yes, those!
Not only will the challenge allow you to knock backlisted books off your TBR, but there’s a Hogwarts mini-challenge, as well! It’s not a requirement to participate in the mini-challenge, but I’m going to, so I can see how many points I can rack up for Gryffindor this year. And according to January’s win (Slytherin!), it looks like the Gryff’s need some more assistance.
That’s where I come in.
I had every intention of signing up for this challenge at the beginning of the year, but I got busy and sidetracked, and it just didn’t happen. So, that’s what I’m doing today. I wanna show y’all a few books I plan to read in the next few months for the Beat the Backlist challenge, and my personal point goal!
Harry Potter (entire series) by J.K. Rowling
I’ve already re-read book one this year, and I started book two today. So my plan is to re-read the entire Harry Potter series for this challenge! I mean, there is a Hogwarts mini-challenge… so this fits in perfectly!
V.E. Schwab’s many books I need to catch up on…
Yes, all of them. (And of course, A Conjuring of Light. But that’s not a backlist book!) Anywho, it has taken me WAY too long to read these four books. Now is the time.
For the Beat the Backlist mini-challenge, I’ll be playing for Gryffindor! (Go, Gryffs!) There are so many ways to earn points for your House, including Scavenger Hunts, Instagram Challenges, Cross Posting Your Reviews, and of course… just reading! You can find all the ways to earn points for your House HERE.
My personal point goal for this year is…
That may (or may not) be a big number, but I will be reviewing (and cross posting) all of the books I read. As well as participating in ALL of the challenges! So I will read my butt off trying to make this goal! I believe it’s attainable for the whole year, so wish me luck!
Are you participating in the Beat the Backlist challenge? If so, which House are you playing for?
